MoneyQuest [Game]

MoneyQuest is a free, standards-aligned financial literacy game for teens created by Rishab Nanduri.

Summary: Set as a space adventure, players travel through 8 planets, each a minigame teaching a specific money skill: budgeting (funding a failing space station’s “needs” before “wants”), investing (watching compound interest play out over a simulated 40-year time-lapse), credit and debt (outrunning the “gravitational pull” of high-interest debt), plus saving, stocks/bonds, risk management, and retirement. Completing all eight earns a certificate aligned to CFPB, FDIC, MyMoney, and CEE financial literacy standards.

Big Idea: Financial concepts stick better when they’re felt through gameplay tension (like literally watching debt “crush” you or oxygen run out from bad budgeting) rather than explained through a textbook or quiz, so the game builds each lesson into a mechanic with real stakes instead of multiple-choice questions.

Playable Takeaway: Play the game and see what you take away.
